Community Garden Needs Volunteers!

1/27/2026

For many, many years, the Prairie Home Garden Club beautifully cared the community flower bed, which is located between the bank and the Methodist church hall. In the last few years, Glenda Sells and her small band of merry helpers has kept it looking great. The community is grateful to everyone who has worked in the flower garden over the years.

Alas, it is time to pass on floral duties to someone new. Would anyone local consider taking over care of the flower garden? The garden is on City property but is maintained by volunteers for the love of flowers and love for the town.

“Care” includes planting, mulching, watering, weeding, deadheading, and cleaning up in the fall.  The City provides some funds for plants and mulch, and a water hydrant is available next to the flower bed.

If interested, please contact the City at cityclerk@cityprairiehome.com or at 660-841-5514.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers so much for Prairie Home! There are so many unseen heroes out there!
